The tattoos seen in Silk Stalkings (1991) and Sliders (1995) are real. Sheppard has at least four (both upper arms, left chest, and shoulder blade), all of dragons.

Played the same character, at a younger age, as his father William Morgan Sheppard in episodes of The Impossible Astronaut (2011), Broken Bird (2009), and the movie Mysterious Island (2010).

He has been sober since 1990.
