Before his Emmy Award nomination for "Severance" (the mind-bending second season of which is currently underway on Apple TV+) playing a man who literally splits his working and personal lives, or starring on the beloved sitcom "Parks & Recreation," Adam Scott was one of several guest stars on "Boy Meets World" who went on to make it big. The ABC sitcom was part of the popular T.G.I.F. Friday night programming from 1993-2000 before re-running on the Disney Channel and ABC Family. "Boy Meets World" follows a neurotic 11-year-old through his school years as he navigates becoming a better person with the help of his wise teacher Mr. Feeny, a romantic relationship with his one true love Topanga, and social class differences with his best buddy Shawn.

Danielle Fishel and Maitland Ward had it out.
A lot of drama has emerged from the Boy Meets World cast’s podcast. From memories of predators who manipulated them to hide to recollections of what it was like to film, they’ve shared a lot.
This time, the drama erupted on the podcast itself.
An attempt to rehash and maybe smooth over old issues led to a head-to-head confrontation between Danielle Fishel and Maitland Ward.

It was a tense reunion between Boy Meets World stars Danielle Fishel and Maitland Ward on the latest episode of the Pod Meets World podcast.
Ward was a guest on the podcast hosted by Fishel, Rider Strong, and Will Firedle, as the Boy Meets World alum talked about Season 6 of the ABC sitcom. Ward joined the show in 1998 and stayed with the series until its end in 2000.
Midway through the podcast that premiered on February 24, Fishel asked Ward, “Do you hate us?”
“No, I don’t hate you,” Ward said, adding, “I think that you hate me because you wouldn’t speak to me on Girl Meets World and that was hurtful.”
Ward was referring to the Boy Meets World spinoff sequel series, Girl Meets World, which aired on Disney Channel for three seasons. In 2013, Ward shared a photo from the set of the series alongside stars Rowan Blanchard and Sabrina Carpenter.

In a podcast first, “Pod Meets World” included the following warning at the top of their latest episode: “This episode contains a bunch of *** language and subject matter. Please proceed with caution.”
The Feb. 23 episode featured Maitland Ward, the actor best known as Rachel McGuire on “Boy Meets World.” After visiting the “Girl Meets World” set in 2015, Ward began growing her personal brand and later went on to become an *** film star. While they did discuss that transition and her work now, it wasn’t until after that discussion that things got extremely tense.
The tone changed about 55 minutes in, when co-host Danielle Fishel asked, “Do you hate us?” Ward replied, “No, I do not hate you. I think that you hate me, because you wouldn’t speak to me on ‘Girl Meets World,’ and that was hurtful.”
From there, the pair went back and forth about their relationship through the years.

Seth Meyers went on an epic Boy Meets World rant on his show Late Night with Seth Meyers, and didn't hold back that Topanga Lawrence (Danielle Fishel) made a mistake by proposing to Cory Matthews (Ben Savage) during their high school graduation. Boy Meets World originally ran on ABC for seven seasons between 1993 and 2000 and followed Cory growing up. One of the main storylines of the show was his relationship with Topanga, showing them growing closer together and eventually getting married.
During the "A Closer Look" segment on Late Night with Seth Meyers, the host reacted to a social media post from Vivek Ramaswamy, which said, "A culture that venerates Cory from 'Boy Meets World,' or Zack & Slater over Screech in 'Saved by the Bell,' or 'Stefan' over Steve Urkel in 'Family Matters,' will not produce the best engineers." Danielle Fishel has officially completed her treatment for breast cancer.

“I am officially done with radiation,” she declared, going on to say she is “officially done with what is considered active cancer treatment.”
If you didn’t know, she revealed her diagnosis of ductal carcinoma in situ (Dcis), a form of breast cancer, in August of last year.
“I did 15 rounds of whole breast radiation and then five rounds of targeted radiation, which just means they focus in on the very small area where my cancer was versus treating the entire breast,” she explained.
“It will help significantly lower my chances of recurrence, which is always good news,...

Mike Myers says you can’t just make a catchphrase happen. “I’ve never designed a catchphrase. I just like how people talk,” Myers told Vulture late last year. “Remember ‘Get in my belly?’ That was improv. It wasn’t, ‘Ladies and gentlemen, my next catchphrase.’”
But Jaleel White says the producers of Family Matters were intent on creating a signature slogan for his Urkel character. “They tried a million darn catchphrases,” he told Danielle Fishel, Rider Strong and Will Friedle on the Pod Meets World podcast, per People.
It took a while to get to “Did I do that?” White said — and some of the early stabs were pretty lame. “The first one that they ever tried really was Steve would just bump into inanimate objects — an end table or a lamp, knock it over and say, ‘Excuse me.’ That was it.”
Er, easy to see why that one didn’t catch on.

My first and only previous experience with WWE was a brief episode in 1990 during which my childhood neighbors, the Broders, recruited me for a letter-writing campaign to lift Hulk Hogan’s spirits.
The “Come Back Hulk” crusade, a mere half-sentence in the wrestler’s 16,000+-word Wikipedia biography, was a staged bit to coax the de facto star of the league (then known as WWF) back into the ring after a man called Earthquake broke his ego and several of his ribs. Its limited real estate in Hogan lore confirms this was just a blip in his and WWE history, but it burrowed into my seven-year-old brain to become its lone point of wrestling reference for decades. I thought of it when Hogan sued Gawker out of existence, when he flashed his Trump-Vance tank top on the RNC stage over the summer and, really, almost anytime I see a yellow Speedo.

The cast of Boy Meets World candidly reacts to Mr. Turner's one-sentence sendoff. Played by Anthony Tyler Quinn, the character of Jonathan Turner was important in the early seasons of the family sitcom. Appearing in 51 episodes, which went from season 2 to season 4, Turner develops a fatherly relationship with Shawn Hunter (Rider Strong). It makes it all the more jarring when Mr. Turner is abruptly written off the show after getting into a motorcycle accident, with Quinn not reprising the role until the spinoff Girl Meets World.
With the rewatch podcast Pod Meets World revisiting the season 5 finale "Graduation", which features a joke about the fact that Mr. Turner wanders a part of the school that the protagonists never visit along with other disappeared supporting characters. The '90s was a complicated time to be a TV teen. While the kids of "Beverly Hills, 90210" and "Melrose Place" were entrenched in constant scandalous teen drama, a gentler, more family-friendly version of teen life was drawing in audiences on ABC. "Boy Meets World" ran for an impressive 158 episodes, from 1993 to 2000, and remains a pop cultural touchstone — albeit not quite as potent of one as its cattier primetime counterparts — to this day.
Like every memorable sitcom, "Boy Meets World" knew how to pick a guest star, and several of the actors who showed up across its seven-season run went on to be pretty dang famous. In a few cases, people who were already big-name actors at the time also dropped in on the kids of John Adams High. Danica McKellar has good news for those who didn’t like the original ending of “The Wonder Years” — things may have changed! The actor, who played Winnie Cooper on the sitcom from 1988 to 1993, opened up about how she views the controversial ending.
In the final episode, which aired May 12, 1993, the narrator revealed that Kevin Arnold (Fred Savage) and Winnie did not end up together, despite their on-again off-again relationship throughout the series. She went to Paris to get her art degree and Kevin got married to someone else, but the pair remained friends.
“Fans still get upset about it,” McKellar said on the Nov. 25 episode of “Pod Meets World.” She explained that often in the show, “everything didn’t all work out in the end,” which was a way to be relatable to the audience.

Lopez Vs Lopez combines family sitcom antics with a touch of theatrical drama. George Lopez stars as a former alcoholic and deadbeat dad who reconnects with his estranged daughter when he hits rock bottom and tries to turn his life around. Now in its third season, Lopez Vs Lopez's current batch of episodes focuses on the impending wedding between Mayan and her fiance and baby-daddy, Quinten (Matt Shively).
The November 15th episode, "Lopez Vs Friends," featured a special appearance from Annie Gonzalez, who played one of Mayan's childhood friends, who is considered for Maid of Honor duty, much to the chagrin of Mayan's mother, played by Selenis Leyva. Ultimately, it will take a line dance to sort things out... It makes sense in the greater context of the episode, we promise.

Tonight, on a very special episode of Boy Meets World, Shawn gets crunk…Boy Meets World, like many sitcoms (especially of the Disney-backed Tgif variety), had its share of episodes that took on serious issues, hitting on everything from child abuse to teenage *** to cults. But one episode that still sticks with Rider Strong is “If You Can’t Be With the One You Love”, which focused on Shawn Hunter developing an alcohol dependency, something he doesn’t think the show handled well at all.
As Rider Strong remembered of the season five episode of Pod Meets World (the Boy Meets World rewatch podcast he co-hosts), Shawn was seeing “having a good time with Cory and doing handstands and peeing on cop cars and just, like, woohoo, fun loving. And then in that second half, it’s as if he’s a 45-year-old alcoholic who’s like, ‘I can’t stop,...

Lopez Vs Lopez, currently airing its third season on NBC, combines family sitcom antics with a dose of genuine pathos. George Lopez stars as an alcoholic who is forced to move in with his estranged daughter, a status quo shift that forces him to rethink his life and strive to do better for the sake of his daughter, grandson, and the rest of his family. The show is co-created by Mayan Lopez, George's real-life daughter who also stars as George's on-screen progeny.

Dancing With the Stars has always been more than just a reality TV dance competition. Yes, it's taught a few celebrities with two left feet how to dance the salsa and cha-cha, but it's also been a place where showmances, and even real romances have been found.
The show is also a place where professional dancers and their celebrity partners have developed friendships that have lasted beyond the dance floor. For pro Emma Slater, she's continued to have a lifelong bond with her Season 28 partner, actor James Van Der Beek, amid his cancer diagnosis.

Boy Meets World actor Rider Strong recalled one particular episode that made him “very uncomfortable” and “so miserable” to film.
In a recent episode of Pod Meets World — the rewatch podcast dedicated to the ’90s sitcom co-hosted by Strong, Danielle Fishel and Will Friedle — the trio discussed an alcohol-themed episode that was eventually banned from airing by Disney for its mature content. Strong, in particular, found the episode to be a watered-down warning message about alcoholism that ended up being more of a “disservice.”
“I’m just half-assing it this entire episode,” he began. “I’m so miserable.”
Strong continued, “I was probably 17 the first time I tried alcohol, so it was probably right before this. But I remember Ben [Savage] and I talking about, like, ‘How do you play drunk?’ and having conversations about it. And he nails it. He’s so good at it.”

On Wednesday, aka the anniversary of the day in 1983 that Stranger Things’ Will Byers was taken by the Demogorgon, Netflix marked the occasion by revealing the titles of all eight episodes that will make up the beloved series’ fifth and final season. In addition to “The Crawl,” which was revealed two years ago (!), they are: “The Vanishing of,” “The Turnbow Trap,” “Sorcerer,” “Shock Jock,” “Escape From Camazotz,” “The Bridge” and “The Rightside Up.”
That last one should give fans hope that, no matter how high the death toll of the episodes, we’ll be getting at least a happy-ish ending.

Jennifer Love Hewitt was killed off in an episode of Boy Meets World because of her real-life relationship with series star Will Friedle (Eric Matthews). Hewitt appeared in the 1998 episode "And Then There Was Shawn," where the characters were locked in John Adams High School, while a killer was hunting them. Just like almost everyone else in the episode, the killer murders Hewitt's character (although it was later revealed that the entire episode was a dream).
On the Pod Meets World podcast, Friedle discusses the episode with fellow Boy Meets World stars Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) and Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence). Friedle reveals how shortly after his relationship with Hewitt ended, series creator Michael Jacobs told him that the reason he had her appear in the episode was so that he could have her killed off in front of Friedle.

Danielle Fishel opened up about if she’s still in touch with her Girl Meets World costar Sabrina Carpenter.
If you were unaware, Danielle played Topanga Matthews, the role that she originated in Boy Meets World, in the spinoff series. Sabrina played Maya Hart, who was the best friend of Topanga’s daughter.
Girl Meets World ended in 2017, and Sabrina has since taken off as a pop star.
Seven years later, are Danielle and Sabrina still talking?
Keep reading to find out more…
“I still consider her to be my daughter and I think of myself very much as a surrogate mother,” Danielle told People.
She continued, saying, “She has a mother who’s wonderful, who I’m very close to. I’m definitely an older friend who gives her advice more like a mom would than just a pal. I probably annoy her sometimes with my mom advice, but I can’t help it!

Selena Gomez’s career took off as she took on the iconic role of Alex Russo in the beloved Disney Channel series “Wizards of Waverly Place” — and now she’s paying it forward with her TV brother David Henrie.
For years, the two friends would have wine nights and discuss what their characters would be up to as they grew up. “We kept talking about it!” Gomez tells Variety at the “Wizards Beyond Waverly Place” premiere in Los Angeles.
“It was so organic. We never felt any pressure,” Henrie says. “The original fan should know there was never a mandate to be like, ‘We have to make this show, now’s the time to make the show.’ It just came to a point where we were like, ‘Maybe we got something here.'”
The two brought their revival idea to Disney and the full-fledged reboot, “Wizards Beyond,” received a 21-episode order for its first season.

Lopez Vs Lopez, the hit NBC sitcom starring George Lopez, is currently airing its third season. The show combines classic family sitcom trappings with some genuinely heavy subject matter, as the main character is an erstwhile deadbeat dad struggling with his alcoholism while trying to reconnect with his daughter, played by Lopez's real-life progeny, Mayan Lopez, as well as his future son-in-law, Quinten, portrayed by Matt Shively.
Quinten's father, Sam, made his debut in season 1 of the series, played by Stephen Tobolowsky in the episode, "Lopez Vs Van Bryan." Sam initially seems like a perfect father-in-law, particularly with regard to his genuine love and appreciation for his son's beau. However, after getting a little inebriated, Sam reveals an unflattering resentment towards his son for not being a business-savvy, money-minding patriarch. Ultimately, Sam reconciles with his son and admits the error of his ways. Audiences will get to find out if...

As reported by /Film on January 4, 2017, the Disney Channel canceled "Girl Meets World" after three seasons. Upon completing production on the show's third season, the "Girl Meets World" cast and crew had been patiently waiting to hear whether or not their series would be renewed for a fourth go-round. Instead, the show's aptly-titled season 3 finale, "Girl Meets Goodbye," became forever known as the final episode.
If you listen to "Pod Meets World," the podcast hosted by "Boy Meets World" and "Girl Meets World" veterans Danielle Fishel, Will Friedle, and Rider Strong, you'll get the sense that Michael Jacobs -- the co-creator and head executive producer on both shows -- is a very dogged and focused individual who knows what he wants and will do anything to get it. Children's TV shows of the 1990s weren't afraid to get quite scary and intense, with many standout episodes of beloved series leaving a lasting impression in the form of nightmares. The 90s were quite an interesting time for children's media, with loosened restrictions on what networks could get away with leading to some very experimental episodes of TV. While modern kids' shows can be quite scary, the childhoods of millennials are filled with particularly horrifying TV scenes that still cause bad dreams even today.
Interestingly enough, it wasn't strictly the explicitly horror-themed series that got quite terrifying in the 90s. Horror anthology TV shows made for kids like Goosebumps and Are You Afraid of the Dark? may have seen an increase in popularity this decade, but standard children's fare like cartoons or tween dramas could get just as frightening. If you're a reader of a certain age, there's a chance you grew up watching "Boy Meets World." The coming-of-age comedy lasted for seven seasons, and audiences were able to watch Cory and Eric Matthews, Shawn Hunter, Topanga Lawrence, and Angela Moore transition from childhood into adulthood, all under the watchful eye of their parental figures and their collective mentor, Mr. Feeny. Years after the show's end, "Boy Meets World" returned for a new generation as "Girl Meets World," focusing on the daughter of Cory and Topanga, Riley, and her mischievous friend Maya Hart, played by pop sensation Sabrina Carpenter. The reignited love of the series inspired the iHeartPodcasts network to launch "Pod Meets World," a retrospective series where the show's stars Danielle Fishel (Topanga Lawrence/Matthews), Will Friedle (Eric Matthews), and Rider Strong (Shawn Hunter) revisit each episode.

Danielle Fishel, known for her iconic role as Topanga on the 1990s sitcom Boy Meets World, revealed on her Pod Meets World podcast that doctors discovered breast cancer during a routine screening. However, Fishel says an early diagnosis means the 43-year-old actress is expected to fully recover.

The actress credits regular cancer screenings with catching her case at such an early and treatable stage. “If you have to find out that you have cancer, find...
