Earlier today, Amazon MGM Studios officially announced the start of production on their upcoming untitled Jack Ryan feature film, which will return 4x Primetime Emmy-nominee John Krasinski to the title role, and will serve as a sequel to the acclaimed Prime Video television series.
Andrew Bernstein is helming the feature, with a screenplay from Krasinski and Aaron Rabin. Bernstein previously helmed three episodes in season two of Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan, while Rabin penned five of the six episodes in the final season. Both also served as executive producers on their respective seasons.
In addition to Krasinski (The Office; A Quiet Place; 13 Hours) as the titular Jack Ryan, returning cast members will include Wendell Pierce (The Wire; Suits; Superman) as James Greer, Michael Kelly (House of Cards; Dawn of the Dead; Secret Invasion) as Mike November, and Betty Gabriel (Get Out; Upgrade; Defending Jacob) as Elizabeth Wright.

The film version of John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan is shaping up. It was reported late last year that Sienna Miller will star alongside the former star of The Office in the upcoming film adaptation, which is in development at Amazon MGM Studios. Now, Deadline is reporting that four more actors have joined the Tom Clancy-inspired thriller.
Max Beesley, Douglas Hodge, JJ Feild and Betty Gabriel have all joined Jack Ryan along with Miller. Gabriel is also a former cast member who appeared in the third and fourth seasons of the series. Amazon will be producing in association with Paramount Pictures and Skydance. Douglas Hodge and Betty Gabriel are among the recruits for the new Jack Ryan film, starring John Krasinski. More here.
The cast of the new Jack Ryan movie is beginning to expand, with filming presumably now not too far away.
John Krasinski follows Alec Baldwin, Harrison Ford, Ben Affleck and Chris Pine by playing Ryan on the big screen. In his case, he’s had a fair amount of practice too, having played Ryan on the hit television series, that’s cunningly entitled Jack Ryan.
It may well be that the new film, which is being backed by Amazon MGM, will also go by that name as well. It’s been known for a while that John Krasinski, Sienna Miller, Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly are in the ensemble.
Now, some further additions have also been announced. Betty Gabriel, JJ Feild, Max Beesley and Douglas Hodge are signing on the dotted line.

If you're looking for a high-concept, mysterious sci-fi show in the vein of "Under the Dome," "From," or "Manifest," Stephen King has a recommendation for you. The master of horror has always loved sharing recommendations for spooky genre offerings on social media, and this week he took to Threads (he left the cesspool formerly known as Twitter in November) to highlight the UK-made series "The Midwich Cuckoos."
"The Midwich Cuckoos (Amazon): Surprised there hasn't been more talk about this," King recently posted on Threads. "It's a brilliant re-imagining of John Wyndham's classic sci-fi/horror novel." The title of one of Wyndam's best-known novels may not sound familiar to you, but the name of its earlier film adaptation might: "The Midwich Cuckoos" became "Village of the Damned" when Wolf Rilla adapted it in 1960. That version of the story is considered an all-time-great horror movie, alternately dubbed as an "excellent...

Stephen King praises a sci-fi adaptation of a classic sci-fi horror, which flew under the radar when it was first released. As the year comes to a close, the seminal author has shared some of his TV favorites. They've varied from the Jamie Dornan crime thriller The Tourist to the short-lived Apple TV+ series Constellation. But several of his recommendations tended to have one thing in common.
Whether it was the straightforward horrors of shows like Evil or Teacup or the more subdued unease of a drama like the Billy Crystal-led Before, several of King's TV notables tend to revolve around unsettling situations that would not seem at all out of place in some of his most famous novels. The author's latest recommendation follows along those lines.

What Am I Even Watching?: Infamous Fast & Furious Motorcycle Rip-Off Movie Torn Apart By VFX Artists

VFX artists tear apart scenes from Torque, an infamous Fast & Furious motorcycle ripoff. Directed by Joseph Kahn, Torque tells the story of Ford (Martin Henderson), a biker who returns from Thailand to find himself the target of two dangerous street gangs. The film, which was written by Matt Johnson and also stars Ice Cube, Monet Mazur, Dane Cook, and Max Beesley, came out three years after The Fast and the Furious (2001), and was clearly heavily inspired by the film in terms of its characters, storylines, and over-the-top action sequences.

Get ready for another go-around with the Guy Ritchie series, The Gentlemen. Variety has reported that the Netflix series has been renewed for season 2. In his review for season one, our own Alex Maidy said, “The Gentlemen series feels like a reimagining of the film. The story hits some vaguely similar notes but the vast majority is completely different. […] This is a unique reimagining of a successful story that takes it in a different direction and sets up future seasons.”
Netflix U.K.’s VP spoke ecstatically about the show’s successful first season, “With its gun-toting chickens and drug-dealing Dukes, The Gentlemen was a huge hit with audiences in 2024. Hijack season 2 is in production, with Idris Elba leading again alongside new stars Toby Jones, Lisa Vicari, and Christiane Paul. The storyline for season 2 remains a mystery, likely exploring many returning characters and unresolved conflicts. With an expanded cast, season 2 promises more unpredictability and a wider scope, keeping audiences on their toes.
Hijack has cast three major stars, the Idris Elba-led thriller series beginning production on season 2 in the process. Season 1 of the thriller series followed Elba's Sam Nelson, a business negotiator who becomes a key figure in negotiating with hijackers on an airplane from Dubai to London. Hijack season 1 ended with the plane safely landing, after which Sam and the lead hijacker, Stuart, have a final confrontation leading to the latter's arrest. However, there are still plenty of unanswered questions about the group that orchestrated the attack in the first place.

“Guy has an incredibly lively mind,” says “The Gentlemen” editor Matt Platts-Mills about the show’s creator, Guy Ritchie. “He won’t rest until he’s absolutely sure that he’s hit everything that’s possible with the scene, and that’s across everything. And he kind of develops ideas as he watches it. It’s kind of a ride in itself.” Watch our video interview above.
Platts-Mills edited three episodes of the Netflix comedy series: “An Unsympathetic Gentleman,” “All Eventualities” and the season finale, “The Gospel According to Bobby Glass.” The eight-episode thrill-ride stars Theo James as Edward Horniman, who has unexpectedly inherited an estate of 15,000 acres and the title of Duke of Halstead from his deceased father. Unbeknownst to Horniman, it’s also home to a massive weed empire.

Netflix’s The Gentlemen series doesn’t feature the same ensemble cast as Guy Ritchie’s 2020 film of the same name. However, Ritchie says his new series is set in the same sort of world as the film, and that’s confirmed in the show’s first official teaser trailer.
The R-rated feature film starred Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunnam, Colin Farrell, and Michelle Dockery. The ensemble of the 2024 series that it inspired is led by Theo James (The White Lotus 2) and includes Ray Winstone (The Departed) and Kaya Scodelario (The Pale Horse). Daniel Ings (I Hate Suzie), Joely Richardson (Lady Chatterley’s Lover), Vinnie Jones, Giancarlo Esposito (Better Call Saul), and Chanel Cresswell (This is England) also star.
The cast also includes Michael Vu, Max Beesley (Hijack), Jasmine Blackborow (Marie Antoinette), Harry Goodwins (In His Hands: The Emergence), Dar Salim (The Covenant), Pearce Quigley (Detectorists), Ruby Sear, and Peter Serafinowicz (The...

Just four years after the movie hit theaters, Netflix has turned Guy Ritchie's "The Gentlemen" into a TV show. The above teaser trailer for the series offers proof of that, introducing a drug empire, a cast of criminals, and some vintage Ritchie shenanigans.
The teaser admittedly doesn't dive too deeply into the story, but it does do a great job of capturing the vibe. It's all set to the tune of "Time of the Season" by The Zombies, with some welcome narration by Giancarlo Esposito, of "Breaking Bad" and "The Boys" fame. Esposito is just one part of a pretty well-stacked ensemble led by Theo James ("The White Lotus"). Blood, boxing, and quips, this has all of the hallmarks of a classic Guy Ritchie production. It certainly has a similar feeling to the 2020 movie, but it also feels designed to satisfy "Snatch" fans. The official synopsis for the show...
