rypsiöljy

1. canola oil, rapeseed oil, field mustard oil (oil pressed from the seeds of field mustard, Brassica rapa subsp. oleifera)

English does not make a consistent distinction between oil pressed from the seeds of Brassica napus subsp. napus and those of Brassica rapa subsp. oleifera. In Finnish, the former is rapsiöljy and the latter is rypsiöljy. The oils are very similar in practice anyway, and often commercially sold rypsiöljy is also partially rapsiöljy, and since late 2024, is to be labeled as both if that is the case.
