[edit]@Kinsio, I saw your edits just now and I think they're a great idea. However, we should place them further up the chain. I propose placing these on basilica (Q4846867) which has the relevant subclasses including papal basilica (Q2713379) and major basilica (Q124936). Every basilica should have both of these insignia and not only the minor ones. What do you think? Elizium23 (talk) 20:12, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- True, I didn't think about it that way. I've been a bit over-exact on following what the source is saying, but it's pretty logically straightforward that anything that even the "least" class of basilica has, all basilicas have. But it would be better ultimately to have a source that states that more directly. Kinsio (talk) 20:33, 15 July 2024 (UTC)
- @Kinsio, you may be entirely correct on this point. Thinking about this a bit more, and examining the sources, I suspect that these objects may be deemed unnecessary in a major basilica. That they are symbolic representations of the patriarchal presence, which would be remote and intermittent in an actual minor/lesser building. So your placement, I believe, is correct, unless we can prove otherwise, that these symbols would be granted even in the major Roman churches and even in St. Peter's itself.
